Post Operative Lymphatic Care

This two day post graduate course is designed for therapists qualified in level 3 and above who hold the relevant anatomy and physiology training and a recognised manual lymphatic drainage qualification. We will endeavour that you learn all you can about Post operative Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage and finish the course feeling confident.

Post-operative manual lymphatic drainage is a specialized massage technique that helps to reduce swelling, promote healing and reduce complications after surgery. This gentle and rhythmic massage stimulates the lymphatic system, which plays a crucial role in the body's immune system and fluid balance. During surgery, the lymphatic system can become disrupted, leading to a build up of fluid in the tissues and increased swelling. Manual lymphatic drainage helps to redirect this excess fluid back into the lymphatic vessels, where it can be efficiently filtered and removed from the body. This aftercare is often recommended by surgeons worldwide.
